Schladming is at the centre of the holiday region Schladming-Dachstein in Styria. Schladming became famous, mainly due to the legendary night race. The World-cup night slalom, which takes place annually at the end of January. Around 45,000 fans make their way to Schladming every year to experience this spectacular combination of skiing and party. But there is also a lot going on in the village surrounded by mountains in summer. For example, the annual Mountain bike world cup takes place on the Planai. Not only bikers, but also hikers and trail runners appreciate the region south of the Dachstein during the warmer months.
